After the last year’s debut of the new generation, we are pretty sure that the 2022 Nissan Rogue, which will represent the second production year, will come without more significant changes. Simply, the recent redesign has brought a lot of improvements, even though it was quite evolutionary, so it’s hard to believe that something more important could happen in the next few years. However, some people think differently and that’s the reason why we are hearing more and more rumors about the hybrid version for the next year. The officials are still quiet about this.
Whether the new powertrain comes or not, the overall layout will remain and you may count on familiar design characteristics. Some of the Rogue’s strongest points are things like a spacious cabin, a long list of safety features, a high-quality interior etc. On the other side, we’ve also found a couple of things we don’t like, and that particularly refers to the engine power, which feels a little bit insufficient. Also, there is always a transmission issue, as this crossover still relies on a CVT gearbox.
2022 Nissan Rogue Design
Considering the last year’s redesign, we have no doubt that the 2022 Nissan Rogue will come with the same overall design. We are about to see the same layout that was introduced recently, which may be based on the same CMF architecture, but it brings a bunch of improvements, especially when it comes to comfort and ride quality in general. Interestingly, the wheelbase and most dimensions have remained the same.
When it comes to aesthetics, there is always a chance to see a couple of new color options in the offer. On the other side, the overall look will certainly remain untouched. We are about to see the same styling, based on Nissan’s latest design language, which provides a more mature look and makes the crossover look more upscale.
Interior has always been one of the strongest points of this crossover and there is no doubt that the 2022 Nissan Rogue will continue in the same way. One of the first things we should mention is the overall quality, which is really good. The materials are great, while the build quality is impressive. Furthermore, we like the sound insulation, while the long list of tech features makes everything look even more upscale.
With 106.5 inches in wheelbase, this Rogue is among bigger models in the class, so it’s no wonder that the amount of passenger space is pretty generous. Both rows have enough room to accommodate adults with ease, while we particularly like the front seats, which are massive and supportive.
When it comes to the cargo area, you may count on 31.6 cubic feet behind the second row and 74.1 cubic feet of the total volume, which is pretty impressive for the segment.
Although there’s always a chance to see some novelties in terms of standard equipment, we believe that most of the things will remain the same. Therefore, the 2022 Nissan Rogue should come standard with goodies like an 8-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a four-speaker stereo, two USB ports, Bluetooth, and satellite radio. The list of options is really impressive and it includes things like a 9-inch touch screen, wireless Apple CarPlay, a six-speaker stereo, a 10-speaker Bose premium stereo, navigation, wireless device charging, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, two rear USB ports, and a Wi-Fi hot spot.
This crossover also shines in terms of safety features. All models come standard with things like forward collision warning, pedestrian and cyclist detection, forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, driver attention monitoring, automatic high-beam headlights, a rearview camera, and rear parking sensors.
2022 Nissan Rogue Engine
Many things have changed after the last redesign but the powertrain has remained the same. Therefore, the 2022 Nissan Rogue should also carry on with a familiar 2.5-liter engine, which puts out around 181 horsepower. That’s pretty much a typical amount of power for the class but the thing we don’t like is the CVT gearbox. While it’s obviously great for fuel economy, it doesn’t provide too much satisfaction and can even be pretty loud on full throttle. Speaking of the great fuel economy, this crossover returns around 27 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway, which is one of the highest ratings in the class.
As we already mentioned, there are many rumors that suggest a hybrid version in the near future. That model would probably use Nissan’s new E-Hybrid technology, which uses an electric motor to send power to wheels, while a gasoline engine acts as a generator, so the actual feel is like you’re driving an all-electric vehicle. Details are yet to come.
2022 Nissan Rogue Release Date and Price
Considering that we probably won’t see bigger changes, the 2022 Nissan Rogue should hit the market in the last quarter of the year, with a starting price of around 26.000 dollars.
