The Japanese manufacturer has pulled out from the class of minivans a couple of years ago. It was pretty much an expected move, considering that the Quest has never been among the most popular models in the segment. Add to this that many experts suggested the end of minivans in the near future and things look perfectly clear. However, it looks like there is still a big demand for such vehicle, due to their impressive versatility. Therefore, Nissan feels it would be a good move to bring back this model again. At this point, we are still waiting for the official confirmation, but some reports suggest the new model could arrive already by the end of the year, as 2021 Nissan Quest. Most details are still unknown, but it isn’t that hard to predict how the new model will look like.
2021 Nissan Quest Redesign
Compared to the model that has been discontinued a couple of years ago, we expect that the 2021 Nissan Quest will come with significant changes. Fist of all, we count on a completely new design, in terms that the new model will come with a new platform. On the other side, the base layout will remain the same. Count on a typical minivan shape, though we might see a little bit longer wheelbase. In terms of styling, we won’t see anything but a familiar body style. There isn’t much room for styling freedoms with minivans. On the other side, the front end would follow the brand’s latest design language. So, we count on the implementation of the famous V-Motion grille, as well as other styling details that are typical for new Nissan models.
Once again, it is hard to talk about details, but we count on significant improvements in terms of interior quality. New materials and dashboard design are the things we definitely expect to see. Also, we count on loads of new technologies. On the other side, we are about to see a familiar seating configuration, with lots of space and capacity for eight adult passengers.
2021 Nissan Quest Engines
When it comes to the powertrain, we still don’t have the exact information about the 2021 Nissan Quest. Still, if we look at the competition, it becomes clear that the new model should arrive with a V6 engine and RWD layout. Of course, we count on Nissan’s familiar 3.5-liter V6 horsepower, probably with slightly under 300 horsepower. We presume the engine would be paired to a CVT gearbox, while the optional AWD layout also seems like a possible option.
Also, don’t exclude the possibility to see a hybrid version. At the moment, Chrysler Pacifica is the only minivan that comes with an electrified powertrain, but we have no doubt this will change soon. Naturally, we expect such powertrain from the 2021 Nissan Quest as well. The exact details are still unavailable but believe that the new model will most likely come with some V6-based hybrid system, though four cylinders don’t sound impossible either. Some reports even suggest a possibility to see an all-electric version, but we think such a model is still several years away from us.
2021 Nissan Quest Release Date and Price
As we’ve just mentioned, some reports suggest the new model could arrive already by the end of 2020. At this point, we are still waiting for the official confirmation. When it comes to the price, we presume that base models will go around 30.000 dollars.
When it comes to the competition, the 2021 Nissan Quest will meet again old rivals. Those are models like Honda Oddysey, Toyota Sienna, Chrysler Pacifica etc.
