The second generation of the funky subcompact crossover is finally here. After the recent launch, people are already talking about the hi-performance version and how it could like. Of course, we are talking about the 2021 Nissan Juke Nismo, which is expected to arrive by the end of the year. Naturally, we count on various upgrades compared to the standard model. Whenever a Nismo model comes, it features loads of changes compared to regular models. Besides a more powerful engine, we also count on a new styling, interior design and various other kinds of upgrades. At this point, we are still waiting to hear something from the officials. The following paragraphs are based on rumors, so take this article with a big reserve.
2021 Nissan Juke Nismo Redesign
In terms of base design characteristics, the 2021 Nissan Juke Nismo will share a lot with the standard model, which has been redesigned recently. Still, there is a full load of upgrades we expect to see. One of the first things that come to mind is the styling. Nismo models always come with an exclusive body kit, which includes new bumpers, side skirts, wheels and similar parts. Also, we count on a new grille, while the roof spoiler is also possible.
One of the weakest points of the original model is handling, so we presume that the company will put a lot of effort into upgrading the suspension. This means a completely new setup, which will bring 2021 Nissan Juke Nismo a little bit closer to the ground and make it a little bit stiffer. A slightly reinforced chassis is another thing we expect to see.
Changes are expected on the inside as well. At this point, we can’t talk about details, but we are pretty sure that the new model will come with new seats. Of course, we count on sports seats, with excellent side support, also with a visual appearance that clearly accentuates the model’s sporty character. Besides new seats, we count on a lot of new trim, particularly in terms of new materials. Of course, new paddles, steering wheel and similar things are also something we expect to see in the 2021 Nissan Juke Nismo. Other than that, the new version should continue with the familiar cabin design, which is characterized by high overall quality, a decent amount of space, and a long list of tech goodies. Also, we might see a couple of exclusive additions to the list of standard equipment.
2021 Nissan Juke Nismo Engine
When it comes to the powertrain, we count on a new version of the familiar 1.6-liter turbo-four. In the original Juke Nismo, this engine is good for about 188 horsepower and definitely expect to see some power boost for this occasion. Some reports suggest we might see the same version that powers new Clio RS. That would mean around 216 horsepower and 206 pound-feet of torque. That seems like a nice amount of power, but keep in mind that the competition is tougher these days. On the other side, you may feel disappointed when we say that we don’t expect to see the AWD version in the offer, due to a new platform. On the other side, a six-speed automatic transmission seems like a certain thing.
2021 Nissan Juke Nismo Release Date and Price
We expect to see the 2021 Nissan Juke Nismo by the end of the year. When it comes to the price, it is still hard to predict the exact sum. We presume it will go around 27/28.000 dollars.
At this point, Seat Arona Cupra is expected to be the closest competitor.
