The Top-line Platinum trim will add to this model a pair of captain’s chairs and a center console in the second row. This will reduce seating capacity to seven passengers. The 2020 Nissan Armada full-size SUV will be available with many options and packages. It will be offered in three trims: SV, SL and Platinum. Furthermore, the base one will also get a rearview camera, power-adjustable front seats, and front/rear parking sensors. 2020 Nissan Armada powertrain
Under the hood, the upcoming 2020 Nissan Armada will be offered with two engines. Yep, you read well. After so many years the manufacturer decides to make one more engine next to the aging 5.6-liter V8. However, at this moment there is no official word what will bring the new engine and how strong will be. From some rumors, this engine will give much better fuel economy.
Furthermore, the V8 is still great options and this engine is able to produce around 400 HP and 394 lb-ft of torque. The Armada comes standard with rear-wheel-drive (RWD) system or with 4-wheel drive (4WD) as optional. Both this engine will use the same 7-speed automatic transmission that is standard. With the V8 engine, the SUV is able to run from 0 to 60 mph in 5,9 sec, while the top speed is limited to the 133 mph.
Towing capacity and fuel economy of the V8 engine
The 2020 Nissan Armada’s towing capacity is 8,500 pounds. With this number the new model beets the Toyota Sequoia that comes with the 7,400 pounds. In the same range is also model Chevrolet Tahoe.
However, the king of towing is the Ford Expedition with 9,200 pounds. The EPA city/highway fuel economy of the Nissan Armada is little better than the last one and it gives 15/19 mpg (RWD) and 14/18 mpg for the 4WD system.
2020 Nissan Armada release date and price
The release date of the 2020 Nissan Armada is announced for 2019. However, we can expect the same price range of $46,900 for a base rear-wheel-drive model. The top of the offer will be the Platinum trim with a starting price of $60,000.
Also, with the added 4WD system the price will increase to $65,000. The new 2020 Nissan Armada undercuts the starting prices of the Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Yukon and as well as the Ford Expedition.
