The current generation of the company’s flagship sedan has been around for some time, so updates are welcome. Latest reports suggest 2019 Nissan Maxima will come with several novelties. The famous sedan has been around for full 38 years.
The original version came way back in 1980. For all these years, we have seen numerous versions of the popular model. The current generation is present since 2015. Considering Nissan’s usually quick updates, updates for the next year will definitely come.
Still, it is hard to predict which parts of the car will be changed. Most likely, we will see some visual improvement. On the other side, changes on the interior will be minimal, although new standard features will definitely come. Finally, things under the hood will remain the same. The 2019 Maxima will continue with the familiar V6 unit and probably arrive somewhere late in the year.
2019 Nissan Maxima almost the same design
The base design of the 2019 Nissan Maxima will most likely remain the same. The current version is present for about three years, so there is no need for some more important in terms of mechanics, dimensions, overall shape etc. On the other side, we should see numerous cosmetic changes. The new model will suffer most at the front, where we should see some revisions on the front fascia, but also in areas of the grille, front bumper etc.
Finally, some tweaks on headlights are also possible. Rest of the car should remain pretty much the same, although some smaller tweaks at the rear end are possible. Finally, expect some new exterior colors in the offer, as well as some new wheels design. On the insider, the 2019 Nissan Maxima should continue in the same way, but with more standard equipment.
2019 Nissan Maxima features, novelties
Speaking of the standard equipment, the 2019 Nissan Maxima will come with several novelties. Most of them will be in terms of driver-assist systems, including the company’s newest version of so-called ProPilot system. Still, the core of the equipment organization will remain the same.
We will see same trim levels in the offer – S, SV, SL, SR, and Platinum. The base S trim will include things like 18-inch wheels, LED daytime running lights, fog lights, dual-zone automatic climate control, adjustable driving modes, a leather-wrapped steering wheel remote engine start, keyless entry and ignition, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, power-adjustable front seats, 8-inch touchscreen, two USB ports, smartphone integration etc. Higher trims will be gradually adding more and more standard equipment.
2019 Nissan Maxima engine
Unlike other aspects of the 2019 Nissan Maxima, this one will probably remain unchanged. The new sedan will continue with the same 3.5-liter V6 unit. This engine has been around for years and it is well-known for its excellent performances and reliability. It is good for about 300 horses and 261 pound-feet of torque, which is sent to the wheels by a CVT.
This amount of power provides some pretty good numbers when it comes to performances. For example, this large sedan needs only 5.7 seconds to reach 60 mph, while a top speed goes around 130 miles per hour. Despite these pretty amazing numbers, fuel economy stays quite reasonable. In the city, this large sedan returns around 21 mpg, while a highway ride can reach 30 miles per gallon without bigger problems. Pretty impressive for such large car.
2019 Nissan Maxima release date and price
The 2019 Nissan Maxima will come in usual time, which means somewhere in the last quarter of the year. Price should remain the same, around 34.000 dollars for the base model.
Competition is tough. There are models like Toyota Avalon, Chevy Impala, Chrysler 300 and many others.
