The 2018 Nissan Z will make a debut this year. This sports coupe, similar to the Ford Mustang and Porsche 911 is a Nissan’s signature model when it comes to performances. A complete exterior revamp will happen and the upcoming model should arrive as brand-new. On the other hand, there is no official information about the car specs.
However, a convertible version and hybrid model are a possibility for now. Japanese carmaker announced that the Z project is pretty much alive and it will soon make a production. A Nismo variant will bring even better performances and driving manners. Moreover, the interior will be luxurious with plenty of premium features.
2018 Nissan Z exterior looks muscular
The all-new 2018 Nissan Z will suffer an exterior revamp. We expect an upscale and beautiful design. This coupe will gain more muscles and sportier appearance. The hood features two gorgeous lines, and thanks to that, the hood looks muscular. Up front, a blacked-out grille is larger and is a perfect fit for a pair of new LED daytime running lights.
Air vents are bigger as well. From Nismo model, we expect a lot of top-class features and cues such as chrome accenting. The 19-inch alloy wheels are standard while the 20-inch alloys are optional. At the rear, the taillights are similar to the taillights on the Murano model.
2018 Nissan Z interior is much sporty
The interior is unchanged since 2014. However, the regular Z model offers a more than average cabin in almost all of the aspects. Nismo model will deliver an upscale and luxurious interior for sure. The infotainment touchscreen replaces the aging display, it is more functional, colorful and easier to use. Leather seats feel comfy and are available in black and red leather with nice Alcantara accents.
The steering wheel is also new, and it is wrapped in leather as well. The navigation is standard, just like the rearview camera, and premium Bose audio system. A Tech package is on the offer and it offers additional high-tech features. The legroom offers ample numbers, a 42.9-inches to be exact. Headroom is on the average and it is rated at over 38.0-inches.
2018 Nissan Z convertible model
The newest version Nissan Z will be also available in the convertible variant. This model will keep the same design as the standard one. It is a two-seaters vehicle and it comes with a soft-top roof.
This model will be offered in trims base, Touring and Touring Sport. The base one is available with beautiful 18-inch wheels, automatic xenon headlights, cruise control, LED running lights and also taillights, keyless system, automatic climate control and there is a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
However, the Touring trim in this model will bring to us heated four-way power-adjustable seats, ventilated front seats, rearview mirror with auto-dimming, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and voice control. The last one Touring Sport will add some of the Sport Tech’s equipment with upgraded seats and upholstery. It will keep the same engine and output as the standard one version.
2018 Nissan Z engine makes 332 HP
There is no news about the 2018 Nissan Z and its engine options. Latest speculations are saying that the this will get an output of 332 HP engine. If those rumors become true then the only option is a 3.7-liter twin-turbo V6 drivetrain with an all-wheel-drive setup. This engine offers a 7-speed automatic transmission and the 2018 Nissan Z model could hit from 0 to 60 mph is 5.1 seconds.
The top speed will be rated at 160 mph. Generally, we expect improved suspension and handling, however, this coupe already coming with fantastic driving manners. We’ll have to wait a little longer for the exact fuel-economy ratings. If you are a fan of a fuel efficiency this model gives 18/26 mpg in city/highway. However, a hybrid version could happen next year, but those are pure speculations for now.
2018 Nissan Z price and release date
The 2018 Nissan Z will start at $30,000 and the base model convertible is $46,000. However, with the Touring Sport the price for the convertible model will go to $48,000. This sporty coupe will go on sale in the last quarter of 2018.
