The compact 2018 Nissan NV200 continues without bigger changes for this year, offering plenty of cargo space, combined with excellent driving dynamics. This light van has been around for some time.
The first model appeared in late 2009 and we haven’t seen many changes since then. This seems logical, considering the vehicles main purpose. This is a well-balanced commercial vehicle, which besides utility also offers great ride quality. It would be a perfect choice for everyone who doesn’t need some crazy cargo volume, but want to save fuel and add a little bit excited in its ride.
Easy maneuverability makes this model a perfect commercial vehicle for urban conditions. For this year, 2018 NV200 continues in the same way, featuring no bigger changes, neither in terms of styling nor in terms of mechanics.
2018 Nissan NV200 redesign
This is a real light commercial vehicle. With its compact dimensions, 2018 Nissan NV200 offers many benefits. Despite the fact that this isn’t a full-size van, it offers pretty amazing cargo volume. On the other side, compact dimensions provide perfect maneuverability. Another great thing about this model is its car-based architecture. This model is built on the Nissan’s familiar B platform, which underprints numerous compact cars from Renault-Nissan Alliance. Compared to most of the vans around, this model features far better dynamics, thanks to this platform. In terms of styling, this van keeps the things simple.
This is a commercial vehicle, so the lines and overall shape are pretty conventional, without many things in common with the brand’s current design language. The interior design is also pretty straightforward, without unnecessary details and shapes. The dashboard is simple, it comes with only necessary control. Still, the materials quality is pretty amazing.
2018 Nissan NV200 features
Although a light commercial vehicle, 2018 Nissan NV200 still comes with a decent list of standard equipment. There are two trims in the offer – S and SV.
The base S model comes with standard features like 15-inch steel wheels, power windows and power door locks. There are also standard features like hill-start assist, 12-volt power outlet, USB ports, Bluetooth, 5-inch display, as well as Nissan’s Mobile Office Center, which includes several useful things like laptop and hanging file-folder storage, a pen/pencil tray, a CD holder and dual cup holders.
The SV trim includes all above but also adds things like six floor-mounted D-rings in the cargo area, power locks, and keyless entry. There are also things like heated mirrors, cruise control, and an additional 12-volt power point. Besides these standard features, there are also few standalone options, such as 5.8-inch touchscreen navigation, voice recognition, park assist etc.
2018 Nissan NV200 engines
In North America, 2018 Nissan NV200 comes with a familiar 2.0-liter gasoline engine. This four-cylinder unit delivers around 135 horsepower and 140 pound-feet of torque. In some other parts of the world, there are also smaller 1.5- and 1.6-liter units in the offer. All these engines could be paired with either 5-speed manual or CVT.
On the other side, European drivers prefer diesel engines, so there is a familiar 1.5-liter dCi engine, which comes in two output versions, with either 75 or 90 horsepower. This engine comes in pair with a 6-speed manual transmission. Such amount of power doesn’t promise a very interesting driving experience, but the fuel economy is amazing.
2018 Nissan NV200 price
Another great thing about this small Van is its price. The base model is available already at 22.500 dollars. On the other side, the upscale SV trim will cost you additional thousand, or more if you choose some of the standalone optional features.
