A beautiful-looking 2020 Mitsubishi Mirage is a hatchback with great fuel economy rating, comfortable interior, and superb driving manners. Sadly, Mirage is still far from its competitors like the Ford Fiesta, but the things are getting better and better.
The 2020 Mirage will get a slight exterior update and the interior will basically stay intact. The 2020 Mirage G4 is also available, the sedan which name means “global four-door”. It is generally the same model, the interior is the same, the price is the same and the only change is the exterior styling.
2020 Mitsubishi Mirage exterior is looking aging
The aging exterior of the 2020 Mitsubishi Mirage still remains. Instead of giving its hatchback a total exterior revamp, Mitsu opted for minor exterior refreshments. Up front, large chrome grille is exactly the same as on the sedan G4 model.
Furthermore, front bumper adds plenty of nice-looking details and the rear offers a huge trunk. Cargo space is above average for this segment and Mirage offers a pass-through system. This system is perfect for fitting longer items.
Last year’s model got Infrared Orange and Wine Red exterior paints, so there will be no innovations in this department. The overall dimensions are compact, which makes this hatchback easy to park and maneuver.
2020 Mitsubishi Mirage interface and graphics are looking way better now
The interior refreshments are barely visible. The upcoming 2020 Mitsubishi Mirage will get a new touchscreen and rearview camera. The touchscreen is now connected to the audio system so playing your favorite songs is quicker and easier now.
The interface and graphics are looking way better now. Some of the USB ports are sitting in a different location and there are slightly more soft-touch materials in the cabin. Standard cloth seats are providing a good level of comfort and keyless entry is made standard now.
Speaking of standard equipment, Mirage includes tilt steering wheel, air conditioning, and power windows. Safety is better thanks to standard stability control and two new airbags.
2020 Mitsubishi Mirage engine changes
There will be no changes under the hood, as the 2020 Mitsubishi Mirage still runs on the existing 1.2-liter drivetrain. Even the Mirage G4 sedan model will use the same engine. This unit provides great fuel economy that is rated at 35 mpg in the city and 42 mpg on the highway.
While this sounds too good to be true, the 1.2-liter engine produces only 78 HP and 74 lb-ft of torque. Vibrating and squeaking at idle could be annoying from time to time. However, a CVT automatic transmission is smooth and even a 5-speed manual gearbox is in the offer.
Acceleration and handling
This hatchback reaches from 0 to 60 mph in less than 12 seconds, which is not a result worth of mentioning. Generally, compact dimensions are providing superb handling, transmission is great, however, Mirage is crying for a more powerful drivetrain.
2020 Mitsubishi Mirage price and release date
Starting price of the 2020 Mitsubishi Mirage is $16,500. We highly recommend a CVT transmission that cost $1,200.
If you load your hatchback with more optional equipment, you could end up paying up to $20,000. On the other hand, the price is affordable, and the G4 sedan model will cost the same. The 2020 Mirage will arrive later in 2019.
