Despite the rumors about a 2020 Infiniti Q70L complete redesign, there is no evidence that this is going to happen for the next year. Therefore, we and are partners nissanandinfiniti.com are pretty sure that the current Q70 and Q70L models will carry on for another year.
The current generation has been around since 2012, so you may presume that it can hardly compete with younger competitors, especially if we consider that this segment includes some pretty amazing sedans, such as Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6 etc. Still, this model has a couple of trumps as well.
The 2020 Infiniti Q70L will definitely be one of them. Expect to see it in a typical time of year, sometime in the last quarter.
2020 Infiniti Q70L Design
Like we’ve just mentioned, base design characteristics won’t change for the next year. The 2020 Infiniti Q70L will continue in the same way, as a long-wheelbase version of the luxury sedan.
Compared to standard models, it adds about 6 inches in wheelbase, which ensures superior comfort, particularly in the second row. It measures more than 120 inches. For comparison, the current-generation E-Class is good for about 115 inches in wheelbase.
Of course, that’s not the only strong point this model offers. Despite the age, it still looks pretty good. It comes with Infiniti’s familiar curvy lines and super-sleek profile. On the other side, the front face has started to show its age.
When it comes to the interior design, the 2020 Infiniti Q70L’s strongest point is definitely a huge amount of legroom. Thanks to a stretched wheelbase, there is plenty of space, particularly in the second row.
Still, the model is a little bit old for the class, so the overall cabin styling isn’t as attractive as you would expect from a vehicle of this size and pedigree. The rivals definitely look more opulent. Still, the number of standard features in quite decent, particularly in terms of tech goodies.
You can count on things like 8-inch infotainment system, navigation, a 10-speaker Bose audio system, satellite radio, Bluetooth, moonroof, dual-zone climate control etc.
2020 Infiniti Q70L Engines
Just like the standard-wheelbase version, the 2020 Infiniti Q70L will also come in two powertrain variants.
The hybrid version has been discontinued recently, so there are now just two gasoline units in the offer.
Base models will continue with a familiar 3.7-liter V6, which is good for about 330 horsepower.
The optional 5.6-liter V8 brings much more dynamics, as it is good for 420 horsepower and 417 pound-feet of torque.
Both engines come with a 7-speed automatic transmission and both are available in AWD versions as well.
Release Date and Price
Considering that there are no bigger changes to come for the next year, we expect to see 2020 Infiniti Q70L sometime late in the year. This version cost only 1.500 dollars more than standard wheelbase version Q70, so the price starts at around 52.000 dollars.
