The 2019 Infiniti QX80 is a luxurious full-size SUV that can accommodate up to eight passengers. It offers stunning exterior design, premium interior look, and great performances. The QX80 model can tow up to 8,500 pounds and its driving characteristics are perfect.
For 2019, this SUV gets a slight update, both inside and outside. The infotainment system is updated, and the interior is comfortable. The 2019 QX80 will face a huge competition from a Land Rover Range Rover, Cadillac Escalade, and Lincoln Navigator.
2019 Infiniti QX80 exterior looks powerful and stylish
The exterior looks very powerful and modern. Most of the exterior change happened in the front end, the nose looks odd but pleasing, the headlights are very modern and fender vents are replaced by sheet metal. The front grille is more upscale than before and the hood is longer. Headlights are equipped with new LED units and are moved slightly forward.
Overall, the front end looks more mean and aggressive, no doubt about it. The 2019 Infiniti QX80 is a full-size SUV and is 209 inches long and almost 80 inches tall. However, the design looks stunning, everything is perfectly shaped and all of the parts are very proportional.
A standard model will ride on 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels while the 22-inch wheel is optional. All of the wheels are wrapped in all-season tires. Infiniti added three new colors for the upcoming model, a Mineral Black, Moonstone White and Champagne Quartz.
2019 Infiniti QX80 interior is very luxury
The upcoming 2019 Infiniti QX80 comes with a very luxury and premium interior. Infiniti claims it drew an inspiration from modern jet planes and we can see some connection between those two interiors. Everything inside looks upscale and all of the materials inside the cabin are expensive. The seats are dressed in leather and are extremely comfortable.
There are three color choices of leather and even a two leather grades. You can dress your interior in Wheat, Graphite and Saddle Brown colors. Plenty of wood trims can be found around the dashboard and center console. Moreover, leather seats are resistant to stains thanks to the micro-coating.
Rear-seat passengers can now enjoy a new infotainment system and new displays. Second-row seats don’t slide forward so the third-row legroom is very limited. While the changes are minimal, the new infotainment system is added, and we personally like a smart key feature that can save up to 200 different settings.
2019 Infiniti QX80 V8 engine under the hood
The all-new 2019 Infiniti QX80 will ride on a single drivetrain option and it is a 5.6-liter V8. This engine is available with both rear and four-wheel drive setup and it offers a 7-speed automatic transmission. This V8 unit can produce up to 400 HP and 413 lb-ft of torque.
Towing capacity and fuel economy
Moreover, the 2019 QX80 can tow up to 8,500 pounds which is 3500 more than the Q60 model. Hill Start Assist and Snow mode are available as well and those two systems are working great with a loaded four-wheel drive.
On the other hand, fuel economy could’ve been better. 20 mpg on the highway and 14 in the city are not the numbers that are comparable to other Infiniti’s rivals.
2019 Infiniti QX80 price and release date
The price of the 2019 Infiniti QX80 starts at $66,500. Opt for premium packages and an all-wheel drive and the price will jump to $80,000.
Still, the price is in line with the competitors such as Lincoln Navigator or Mercedes-Benz GL-Class. Infiniti’s latest full-size SUV will go on sale at the beginning of 2019.
